Storekeeper
Join ICOMAT – Revolutionising the Future of Lightweight Manufacturing!
iCOMAT is an advanced manufacturing company that invented Rapid Tow Shearing (RTS) - the only proven technology for producing defect-free curved-fiber composite parts at industrial scale. We deliver the lightest structures possible for aerospace, automotive, defense, and space, at a rate and cost efficiency that far exceeds existing composite production processes.
We build and operate automated factories for composite materials, delivering components to Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs. The business has three main divisions: development of automated production machines, development of software design and production tools, and operation of the factory. We work with 25+ customers and completed the largest ever Series A in composites manufacturing to fuel a significant scale-up, with growth plans that will see the business multiply in size over the next two to three years and expand operations into the UK, Europe and the US.
The business has currently more than 130,000 sqm of production capacity with manufacturing facilities in the UK (Gloucester and Swindon) and the US (Dayton, Ohio); a Hardware R&D Centre in Bristol, UK; and a Software R&D Centre in Athens, Greece.
The Storekeeper is at the heart of how iCOMAT Swindon runs every day. You will own the accurate flow of materials, components and finished goods through the warehouse, from goods inwards through to kitting and dispatch to the production cells. You will work hand in glove with the Operations, Quality and Procurement to keep stock accurate, kits complete and production never waiting.
This is a mid-level role with real autonomy. You will run sections of the stores independently, lead day-to-day cycle counts and goods-in activity. If you take pride in a tidy, controlled, well-run warehouse and you want to see your work feed into composite parts flying on aircraft and racing on Formula 1 grids, this is your seat.
What will you be doing?
1. Goods Receipt & Inspection
Receive incoming materials and verify against purchase orders, delivery notes, and certification documents.
Inspect materials for damage, correct part numbers, batch/lot identification, and documentation completeness.
Ensure all materials meet quality and traceability requirements before acceptance into stock.
2. Storage & Material Control
Store materials in designated locations following segregation rules (e.g. raw material, WIP, finished goods, non-conforming stock).
Maintain appropriate environmental conditions (temperature, humidity where required).
Ensure all items are clearly labelled to maintain full traceability of batch/lot numbers.
3. Inventory Management
Maintain accurate stock records using ERP or inventory systems.
Perform cycle counts and full stocktakes, investigating discrepancies.
Monitor stock levels and trigger re-ordering to prevent production shortages.
Implement FIFO and shelf-life control for applicable materials.
4. Kitting & Issue to Production
Pick, pack, and issue materials to production in line with work orders and job travellers.
Ensure correct materials are supplied on time and in the correct quantities.
Maintain control of tooling, fixtures, and consumables issued to shop floor teams.
5. Traceability & Compliance
Ensure all parts are maintained with full traceability (certificates, batch/lot records, supplier details).
Support compliance with AS9100 and internal quality procedures.
Maintain records for audit readiness and regulatory inspections.
Segregate and control non-conforming or suspect materials.
6. Shipping & Dispatch
Prepare and pack finished goods for dispatch, ensuring correct documentation and labelling.
Coordinate shipments with suppliers, logistics providers, and customers.
Ensure export / shipping documentation meets applicable requirements.
7. Housekeeping & Safety
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stores environment.
Comply with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Support 5S and continuous improvement activities within stores operations.
8. Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, storage efficiency, and material flow.
Support internal audits and implement corrective actions where required.
Additional duties as required operationally.
What do we need from you?
Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or inventory role (manufacturing preferred)
Experience in aerospace or AS9100 environment desirable
Understanding of material traceability, batch control, and certification preferred
Forklift licence (required)
Our Values: Uncompromising Excellence
Discipline over excuses. We commit. We follow through. We hold ourselves and each other to the highest standard, especially when the pressure is on.
Push the edge. iCOMAT was built on a refusal to accept that curved fiber could not be manufactured at scale. We innovate where others hesitate.
Aligned and accountable. Everyone owns their lane, communicates openly, and delivers without being chased. No silos. No ambiguity.
