We build and operate automated factories for composite materials, delivering components to Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs. The business has three main divisions: development of automated production machines, development of software design and production tools, and operation of the factory. We work with 25+ customers and completed the largest ever Series A in composites manufacturing to fuel a significant scale-up, with growth plans that will see the business multiply in size over the next two to three years and expand operations into the UK, Europe and the US.
The business has currently more than 130,000 sqm of production capacity with manufacturing facilities in the UK (Gloucester and Swindon) and the US (Dayton, Ohio); a Hardware R&D Centre in Bristol, UK; and a Software R&D Centre in Athens, Greece.
The Composite Pattern Maker will be responsible for blocking up, fabricating, assembling, modifying, and maintaining patterns, moulds and tooling used in the manufacture of composite components. The role requires in depth knowledge interpreting engineering drawings, working with composite materials, and ensuring tooling meets the productions requirements and quality standards.
What will you be doing?
Manufacture patterns and tooling for composite part production.
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
Prepare and shape materials such as resin boards, carbon fibre, and tooling compounds.
Operate hand tools, power tools and measurement instruments.
Repair, modify, and maintain existing moulds and tooling.
Work closely with design, engineering, and production teams to optimise tooling manufacture.
Maintain safe working practices and comply with health and safety regulations.
Support prototype development and new product introduction activities.
What do we need from you?
Experience in composite tooling, pattern making, mould making, or similar manufacturing environment.
Ability to read engineering drawings and CAD data.
Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing techniques.
Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
